Research is an integral part of science. Medical science is no exception. Health care delivery utilizes the advances in medical sciences and technology. These advances are in turn contributed by research. Hence any aspiring academic medical institution has no other option than investing heavily in research — in terms of human resources, infrastructure and capacity building.
It is heartening to note that MES Academy of Medical Sciences is encouraging and actively supporting the advancement of research in the institutions attached to it. Establishment of MESMeR (MES Centre for Medical Research) is an effort in this direction. It aims to produce a generation of health professionals with inquisitiveness and equipped with critical appraisal skills, and ability to generate knowledge.
I request all faculty and students of the institution to make the best use of the immense opportunities offered to them by MESMeR.
