Annual Research Day 2025
The MES Centre for Medical Research initiated the institution’s first Annual Research Day following its establishment in 2025. MESAMS observed Research Day on 26 September 2025, marking a milestone inits efforts to strengthen research culture and visibility.
The event featured the official launch of MESMeR and the institution of the Dr. P. K. Abdul Gafoor Memorial Scientific Spirit Awards for postgraduate students. It drew participation from faculty, residents, undergraduate students and senior administrators, reflecting the institution’s growing commitment to high-quality, ethical and
impactful research.

Dr. P. K. Abdul Gafoor Memorial Awards
To honour excellence in postgraduate research, MESAMS instituted the Dr. P. K. Abdul Gafoor Memorial Scientific Spirit Awards, recognising outstanding final-year postgraduate students from MES Medical College.
Awardees are selected by a committee of senior members of the Institutional Scientific Committee, judged across three domains.
Publication
Research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
Dissertation
The quality of the postgraduate dissertation itself.
Award by rank
Each award carries a plaque and certificate alongside the cash prize.
